Sports osteopathy
Experience in elite sport, care tailored to you
I’m Vadim Zadoinov, an osteopath and former Olympic athlete. I competed at the Olympic Games in Barcelona 1992, Atlanta 1996 and Sydney 2000. I know first-hand the demands of training, competition and recovery.
I am currently studying for the Continuing Education Master’s Programme in Specialised Manual Techniques for Sports Activity, a university-specific qualification awarded by Universidad Europea del Atlántico.
At my practice in Palafrugell, I combine my sporting experience with osteopathic practice and ongoing professional training. Whether you compete or exercise for enjoyment, I want to understand your symptoms, the demands of your activity and the goals you want to achieve.

When can you consult me?
You can seek care when discomfort limits your training, certain movements feel uncomfortable or you would like an assessment as you return to activity.
Common reasons for seeking care include:
-
Muscle or joint discomfort during or after exercise.
-
Back or neck pain that interferes with sport.
-
Stiffness or difficulty performing certain movements.
-
Recurring discomfort when increasing your training load.
-
Questions about adapting your activity to your current situation.
If you have a recent or suspected injury, we first assess whether you need medical attention or another specific assessment.

How do I work?
We begin by discussing your sport, injury history and routine: how much you train, how you rest and what has changed since your symptoms began.
I then assess your mobility and the movements related to your concerns. Where appropriate, I use joint and soft tissue techniques tailored to your situation and preferences.
The work may be complemented by movement recommendations and, where appropriate, coordination with your physiotherapist, doctor or coach. The aim is to ensure that the session’s goals support your recovery and reflect the demands of your sport.

Returning to training
After a break or an injury, rebuilding confidence in movement is part of the process. Returning to activity is approached gradually, taking your symptoms, movement capacity and response to exercise into account.
If you are following a rehabilitation programme, we respect its guidance and the criteria set by the professional overseeing your care. The aim is to support your return, adapting the work to your progress and the activities you want to resume.
Follow-up according to your needs
We agree on the frequency of sessions based on your symptoms, progress and the goals we have set together.
We review whether the care is proving useful and, when needed, adjust the approach or consider other options.
Caring for yourself between training sessions
Looking after your body continues beyond the practice. An appropriate training load, strength work, rest and recovery time are all part of sporting activity.
Hands-on care can complement these measures. During the consultation, we can discuss which adjustments make sense for your activity and which you can incorporate into your routine.
