Osteopathy for older adults

Moving with confidence, maintaining your independence

Walking, getting dressed, going for a stroll or enjoying your hobbies: comfort and independence matter in everyday activities.

At my practice in Palafrugell, I offer individual care that takes your symptoms, health and the activities you want to keep doing into account. I take time to listen, and together we agree on specific, realistic goals.

When can you consult me?

You can seek care for concerns such as:
  • Back, neck or joint pain.

  • Stiffness that makes everyday movements difficult.

  • Discomfort when standing up, turning or walking.

  • Muscle tension that affects your rest.

  • Difficulty returning to your usual activities.

Pain should not automatically be attributed to age. If you develop new symptoms or an unexplained loss of mobility, it is important to assess the cause.

How do I work?

We begin by discussing your symptoms, health history, medication and usual activities. I also take into account osteoporosis, joint replacements, previous operations and any falls you have had.

I then carry out an examination adapted to your mobility. Where appropriate, I use manual techniques, adjusting the pressure, positioning and pace to your situation and preferences.

I explain each proposal and check how you feel during the session. You can ask for a break or for any technique to be adjusted.

Goals for your everyday life

What matters is that the care addresses something meaningful to you: walking more comfortably, turning over in bed or returning to an activity you miss.

We agree on what we want to improve and review your progress through those activities. Hands-on work may form part of care for muscle or joint discomfort, alongside movement and any other support you need.

If we do not see a worthwhile improvement, we review the approach and consider other options.

Staying active at your own pace

Strength, balance and mobility deserve attention at every stage of life. Exercise adapted to your needs helps maintain your ability to manage everyday activities and may reduce the risk of falls.

We can discuss how to incorporate movement into your routine. If you need a specific exercise, rehabilitation or balance programme, I will recommend consulting the appropriate professional.

We start with your current abilities and progress gradually, choosing activities you can maintain.

Care adapted to your health

The choice of techniques depends on your health. Osteoporosis, anticoagulant medication and other circumstances require specific precautions. Even gentle techniques need to be selected individually.

Osteopathic care complements your usual care. It does not replace medical follow-up, medication or prescribed rehabilitation.

We agree on the frequency of sessions according to your needs and progress.
